Tunnels of Love - Fuvan's Log
Dammit, spice googles!

After getting word that one of the reactors on the star destroyer Kathri infiltrated went down, we got a call from her. She was lost on the Kessel run in the Tie Fighter we requisitioned. I thought for sure a futile mission, but she pulled it off. And just pulling it off is amazing which is so hot awesome. We went to guide her back to Kessel and managed to land the Tie Fighter in a remote area. She boarded and we made for a smuggler’s entrance to the spice mines where we were greeted by the local denizens. For an ugly Transdoshian, Growosskka has a good way with people. He negotiated our costs down to a more manageable 875 credits, and gained us passage and a map through the spice tunnels. I contributed 500 myself. I was saving up for a better side arm but this seemed important and no one else had much.

Then the fun began. Well, I at first thought it was fun. The tunnels are laden with spice…everywhere. I know. I personally made sure that what we were seeing on the walls was in fact spice. My team reminded me that we were working against a deadline. Our ship had become somewhat of an interest to the Imperials. Petty Officer Tran, our Imperial contact said she wouldn’t have to file the report on our ship for another day, still though, a time frame not to be trifled with. We still had to find a quick buyer for our ship before it was flagged in the system. I’m just getting attached to this new ship and now it too is being yanked away from me. Piloting is ‘bout love. Love for your vessel, you love her and she loves you. I’m tired of these loose relationships.

I was watching and listening for the energy spiders we had been warned about when we ran into a web. We all were stuck. Damn! So dark even with the glow rod and the webs look just like veins of spice. B1-Z0 was able to free itself from the web and get a shot off. I managed to get a shot off from my stuck position. but was bit by the spider anyway. Almost lifelike, that droid of ours keep fighting honorably, until loosing a leg to another spider. Poisoned and hurt I tried defending myself again; the last thing I remember, just before passing out from the spider attack was a mighty effort from Kathri to free herself from the web. She succeeded, only to pass out. Well, I can’t fault her too much, she did just single-handily disabled an Imperial Star Destroyer. If I live Kathri, I’ll thank you.

Waking up with Growskka hovering over me with his med kit was my first tragic blurry sight. My vision cleared, and damn, that hover droid was right there behind him recording the whole embarrassment. I thought, what I could do?… Where’s Kathri? I’ll just take her right now in front of the imagers and spite that abomination Dodis. She does deserve something for the whole star destroyer incident. The whole ability to cross breed could become problematic though. Well, I’ll have to find another way to spite that crime lord later. Turns out Growskka saved the day. Last of us standing, he killed the spiders, repaired B1 and healed us much. Combine that with saving us credits, well he’s a good kinda ugly! Now we have to resume our mission to rescue Kallakkata and nab Rainus.

We finally came to our destination. The mines. To get a look, Kathri and I scout ahead. Of course, the Bothan who somehow manages to infiltrate an IMPERIAL STAR DESTROYER easily gets caught sneaking around like a Gamorrean Guard tip toeing across ice… This will be a different type of thanks. I of course was not seen, but the damn Bothan just runs forward to, I don’t know, draw off only two of the several guards. Then I see them, our Wookie and with him Rainus! I go back to Growskka and let him know what happened. And there’s the alarm. We inch our way forward to the mine and not long after we get a call from Kathri… “Help!” We charge forward and the mine is clear of prisoners and guards.

I came to the door first and it wouldn’t open. Our droid and Growskka arrive. I listened at the door and heard blasters. Yup, our Bothan was here. B1-Z0 was at the door ready when Growskka hacked it to open. Several guards were approaching from the far side of the prison cell area. B1-Z0 stepped in and was already firing and then the door closed again separating us, but not before I brought down the guard hovering over Kathri closer by. More blaster fire. Then the door again. I stepped in and Growskka stayed as our means of escape through the door hazard. With the bothan down and Growskka on the door, it was up to myself and B1. B1-Z0 was auto-firing, a beautiful sight when its coming from our side, and then he got hit. It didn’t take much. B1 was severely weakned from the energy spiders, so the droid went down quickly. I saw B1 go down out of the corner of my eye as I watched the wave of Imperials bear down on us. Lifting the heavy auto blaster I turned on the Imperials and with all my heart and soul I downed them in one sweeping flurry of desperation. My only regret is that one of the Imps didn’t down that damn hover droid.

Finding the Resistance - Fuvan's Log
If you can't work with'em - Gank'em

Getting into town early morning was a blessing. Few folk were around so no one saw our rag-tag group emerge from the jungle. We notice a tell on a door and I paid a handsome price of 100 credits to get us in. After a Wookie brandishing a bow caster questioned us in the entry room, our Transdoshian was escorted to a “safer” front room for his own protection. Chumbrock the Wookie further questioned him there. After some Q&A our droid became impatient and turned into his normal self after being in “suitcase” mode on the street.

The rest of us were led to the safe house back room where the “speak easy” was. We rested for the evening and gathered information. In the morning, the droid went out to scout the streets. Apparently the whole town is an imperial stronghold as there are storm troopers everywhere. The only Wookies in town are young, old, and essential labor. There are also Rodians and Transdoshians. Any Transdoshian is likely to be a bounty hunter. There is a guild of them here. We found this out after talking with a freedom fighter at the safe house.

After much deliberation we decided that since stormtroopers all see Wookies, Transdoshians and Rodians as looking very much alike, it would be good to find some patsies and impersonate someone who already has some credentials. Our Bothan went to a bar to recruit but kinda messed things up. She found some bounty hunter Rodian who was about to get stormtroopers to arrest us, but the droid dispatched them very well after jamming the signal from the Rodian’s comm link.

Fuvin Gains a Com Link and a set of laminate armor from the downed bounty hunter so he can impersonate him well.

More to come…

Commandeer troubles - Fuvan's Log
Snakes on a Rodian

When is a plan not a plan…

The first order of business… Commandeer a ship that is: a) heavily gaurded, b) is in a fortrees, c) someone will miss, and d) may not even be the right one we need.
Our attempts to gain access to a supply ship to the prison have quickly become re-purposed to the goal of information gathering. The well fortifided supply hub is not only well equiped with sophisticated sensons to observe any unauthorized approach, but also guards are on continuous watch and an AT-ST walker patoling the outside paremeter. Talk about preparing a warm welcome. The droid couldn’t find what he was looking for, at the perimeter outside sensor range, so we asked him to go guard the ship while we traversed the jungle to town. While en route at night, well into our journey, we were attacked by snakes. Very large, very hungry. The droid, thankfully just this once, does not listen to others and followed us. He / it engaged the native beasts as they were upon us. Apparently the taste of Rodian is a delicacy because I went down in round two. The Wookie was also badly hurt. Fortunately, the Transdoshian has a med kit. That was our day, recon and fight’n.

Rescue of Sinasu - Fuvan's Log
A Deal with Dodis

The fighting continues…

B1-Z0 flys over grappling Sinasu’s platform. Leaping from his commandeered speeder onto the bounty hunter’s speeder attempting to haul away Sinasu, B1-Z0 starts the process of exploding some heads. Kallakkta dispatches even more bad guys. After some further fighting only one bounty hunter remained, where, upon their surrender, Ten Nom said he would use them for negotiating a deal with the incoming bounty hunters to leave the Tech Tank alone.

With Sinasu aboard ship, we flew from Nar Shaddaa to Nal Hutta where Sinasu took possession of the Krayt Dragons. To facilitate that, our ship had to escape from the underground facility. As we emerged there were two smaller craft waiting to engage us. Our ship lost 15 of 22 on our hull integrity, but we did manage to escape without further danger from the bounty hunters as Kuthri Zikri’ Ubun shot them both down. We put the bounty hunter’s damaged speeder in our cargo hold and picked up one of the bounty hunters blasters before leaving the Tech Tank.

Dealing with Sinasu proved to be a bad deal. He forgave us some of our debit and allowed us time to make repairs, but became impatient with our presence and wanted us to leave. The cost and time of repairs to our ship made the delivery of the Krayt Dragons and rescue of Sinasu unprofitable to say the least. Most of us used our down time to go on “milk runs”, which did yield some much needed credits and had the side effect of accelerating Sinasu’s displeasure with our continued presence as his saw this activity as taking advantage of his “generosity”.

The pestering hover droid that dutifully watches my (most) ever move, made itself a nuisance as there was a message from Dodis, demanding our presence on Rodia. Growskka did manage to repair most of the damage to our ship by the time we arrived on Rodia. Dodis has a “job” for us. Meaning that I will be helping, without pay, this blackmailer. Some of our “unencumbered” crew will be paid though, and we did manage to sell the broken speeder at a fair price to him to raise credits (7000), in addition to a blaster pistol for myself. The bad news is the job. We must break someone out of prison, extract information about an abandoned ship with Dodis’s contraband cargo, and then insure this person’s silence. Its all a bad deal in my veiw. With the credits from the speeder sale we bought a security bypass lock thing for Kuthri, and got some much needed healing for some party members. We are to bring the ship with the cargo back to Dodis intact where we will be paid, well at least some of us will.

Engage the Bounty Hunters at Tech Tank - Fuvan's Log
Delivery Gone Wrong

Left Lani at Bacta Max. As a group we returned to our ship and flew out to the tech tank owned by Ten Nom. This tech tank is underground, in a vast pipe network and has a 2 kilometer pool of water. But to get in a hanger size door had to be opened. Growskka and Kallakkata exited our ship as I hovered it. They successfully opened it without triggering any alarms. We tried to close the door behind us but Growskka had to do too much rewiring on the outside panel. When we landed in the tech tank, Growskka looked like he was struggling with the protocol droid. I exited the ship and together we seemed gain enough trust so that Sinasu revealed himself to us. He seemed to be eager to take his cargo and as B1-Z0 and as Kallkkata were unloading the Krayt Dragons we were attacked by bounty hunters seeking Sinasu. We managed to dispatch all but 1 of the speeders but the remaining one has attached grappling hooks to Sinasu’s hover platform and is preparing make off with him. B1-Z0 has hopped into a speeder and is going to go after the remaining bounty hunter’s speeder. Kallakkta is engaged in battle with the 3 remaining bounty hunters on the ground.

Arrive at Nar Shaddaa - Fuvan's Log
Fleeced at Rowo's Landing
Left Jora at Vapor Station on Tatooine, and with the cargo, piloted “the back way” to Green Top on the “smugglers moon” Nar Shaddaa without incident. We were to meet up with Lani, our Mon Calamari contact through our employer, Sinasu the Hutt. Lani was to take possession of some eggs and a young Krayt Dragon which we must be ever vigilant to keep sedated.

Upon arrival, the upper most 4 levels of Green Top lay in smoke and abandoned. These levels belong to Sinasu. No longer was there a suitable landing area, so B1-Z0 and Kallakkata desended to Green Top as I hovered the ship. They scared off some bounty hunters who we later surmised must be working for Sinasu the Hutt’s rival Noaka the Hutt. We also learned Noaka has someone who works at Green Top called Pawn. Even after I deftly piloted the ship in what appeared to be another direction, Noaka’s bounty hunters tracked us to nearby Rowo’s Landing. A massive cylindrical tower and space port.

I paid a hefty 225 credits to dock and re-fuel our ship. There was a pestering little droid I had to keep sending away that was sent out by that over-charging Twi’lek to ramp up our docking costs. A blessing in disguise though… It caused me to have a once-over with our ship to make sure I didn’t miss it sneaking on extra charges. I discovered a homing beacon placed by Noaka’s men. After returning from Green Top, Growskka successfully removed the beacon and seamlessly transitioned a new portable power supply. B1-Z0 stealthily placed it on some departing ship. Those bounty hunters will be on a wild Womp Rat chase for a while.

For now, Sinasu is in hiding due to the turf war attacks, possibly in one of his illegal tech shops. Through the investigative efforts of Kuthri, Kallakkata and Growskka we learned Lani is recovering from injuries in the facility Bacta Max. She gave us directions to negotiate the underground maze of tunnels so that our group may directly contact the one who will take possession of the Krayt Dragon.

I continue to stay with our ship and be ready at a moments notice. We have only today to deliver our cargo, so time is of the essence.
